Welcome to my page, and do feel free to stay and look around! :wave:

You will find my galleries to be filled with an array of animals, insects, nature, and abstract/random things. Every photo has a conceptual meaning behind it and has a meaning to me specifically.

IMPORTANT: Now, I appreciate EVERY comment and :+fav: I receive on my works. I don't always see every comment, as I may be away or just not seeing everything in my feedback updates. But even if I don't respond to your comment, or thank you for a fave, I still very much appreciate it. :aww:

Also, if you have anything IMPORTANT to tell me that you really want me to read/see, please send it in a NOTE:note:. I don't always see every comment that goes on my page etc. so I have a much better chance of reading it in a note.

Adopt a Shelter Animal

Saving just one animal won't change the world... but surely the world will change for that one animal.

A message about adoption. Every animal, just like any human, has a purpose on this earth too. Humans are animals just like cats, dogs, guinea pigs...all of them, so why treat them so badly when we would NEVER want to be treated like that ourselves? Every year, thousands of animals are beaten, neglected, betrayed, and left to die. The luckier ones find homes in animal shelters, but others continue to suffer. Even some of the ones in animal shelters end up being put to sleep...but we can help.

While animals from breeders are great, why buy one when you can go to a shelter and save a life? A shelter animal can bring true friendship, love, and happiness into your life, and you will definitely be brightening up theirs because they're getting a second chance.

So next time you are considering adding a furry friend to the family, consider adoption--it will be one of the best choices anyone can ever make.

This little kitten here is an example of animals that can be helped. This is Pablo, he was found as a stray with his 3 other siblings, 2 brothers and a sister. They were malnourished and extremely sick, but lucky for them, they got the help they needed. After only a month, they were all adopted and now Pablo and his siblings all have wonderful homes.

1~ I love sketching, it's one of my favourite pastimes (besides photography)

4~My hair is naturally dirty blond, but I have it dyed brunette right now.

5~I'm a traveler, I go wherever I can, whenever I can!

[Edit] 08/03/2012: I finished Mockingjay... my life has no meaning anymore. Jokes, but seriously, it's depressing.

This is a tribute to one of my all-time favourite book series The Hunger Games. I absolutely love the 3 books! I'm currently finishing Mockingjay with only 3 chapters left to go! I literally can't put them down, I was reading while eating my dinner last night until my mum yelled at me to put it down.

I'm a HUGE fan, I have a Mockingjay bookmark, and this Mockingjay pin.

Anyone else a fan of the books?

The movie is coming out on March 23rd, March 22nd for us in Australia! I'm so excited!

Taylor Swift's new song Safe & Sound, which features The Civil Wars, is now out on Youtube too: [link]

My school week has also been going pretty good, I have lots of free periods this term so I take some of that time to check up on dA! But I'm still getting homework like there's now tomorrow, sadly. I have an English assignment, an Art project, and a math write-up to do...wish me luck.

Just glad I have those free periods to work on everything and get it done! :phew:

ALSO, I am DYING with anticipation at the upcoming Hunger Games movie! Ah! I LOVED the books and I just can't wait for the movie now, I just hope it does the book justice. I got a Hunger Games movie poster, a Katniss bookmark, Hunger Games bag, and a clip for my bag...yes, can anyone say obsession?

Hi everyone! My name is Alexandra (Alex). I am a Self Taught photographer. I am 17, and I live in Western Australia. I'm from Melbourne. I don't currently live on a Cattle Station, but I used to before we moved. I had baby Cows, Horses and Sheep. My grandparents now keep it up and we visit every once in a while. I brought one sheep with me though, Truffle! I also have an older brother: Shane, he just turned 19 (not on dA).

I'm also a VEGETARIAN :heart:

As an Artist (Photographer) I am experimenting with my photography still. Although I have been working on it and has interest in it since I was 12, I still find that there's always room for improvement. I appreciate constructive criticism when it comes to my photos, as long as it's nothing extremely rude and ignorant. My main focus when I take my photos is of course animals and birds. My photography may not be the best, but I enjoy doing it!

Personal Quote: When words become unclear, I will focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.

I like too many things to count...
my pets, the radio, music, my iPod, reading, magazines, sunny days, warmth, storms, standing in the rain, dancing around, flowers, birds, nature, animals, ice skating, rollerblading, my friends, brownies, climbing trees (I'm like a squirrel!), helping people, imagination, day dreaming, hugs, my family, swimming, surfing, being outdoors, sitting by fires, running, ice cream, and much more!

I don't like some things...
art thieves, spammers, disrespectful people, judgement, global warming, how people trash the earth like it's nothing, child and animal abuse, school (sometimes), overly dramatic people (that make a big deal of little, pointless things), the cold, pickles, biking, sleeping (well, I like sleeping but I'm a morning person), and...my brother. :XD:
